Easterseals Midwest is part of a 100 year old network of disability service providers striving to build a world where all people have equal opportunities to realize their goals, dreams, and aspirations.
For more than 50 years, Easterseals Midwest has been providing autism, early childhood, community living, and employment services to individuals with disabilities throughout Missouri and parts of Kansas and Illinois.
Easterseals Midwest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that currently serves more than 5,000 adults and children with disabilities.
Mission
An estimated 103,000 Missourians live with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD).
Often times, these individuals cannot find competitive employment, they are not living independently, and they are not making important decisions about their own lives.
At Easterseals Midwest, we're leading the way to full equity, inclusion, and access for all.
What
we do
Autism
services
Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that affects 1 in 44 children in the United States.
We offer personalized support to individuals and families with autism through parent training, therapy, assessment, community integration, respite services, and more.
Early Childhood Services
Estimates show 1 in 6 children and teenagers live with one or more intellectual or developmental disabilities.
We provide high-quality education for children of all abilities through state-of-the-art tools, learning plan, and home support programs to promote lifelong impact and bright futures.
Community
Living Services
More than 20,000 individuals with developmental disabilities are living with a caregiver over the age of 60.
We create personalized living arrangements and offer options that foster independence, community interaction, and support.
Employment
services
93% of adults with IDD
are unemployed or underemployed. 40.3% are living below the poverty line.
Through occupational training, career exploration, job placement, workplace social skills, onsite training, and more, we help individuals with disabilities find and keep jobs in their communities.
